Located in the small Central Otago town of Chatto Creek, the tavern welcomes both locals and passers-by. Owners Fiona and Grant, along with their friendly team look forward to seeing you at theirs.

GROUNDS

Opening in 1886, the stone and mud brick tavern was once the focal point of the local community. Today, visitors from all over, can stop by to visit the historic pub or to enjoy a drink outside in our large, sunny garden.

WE’RE ON THE OTAGO RAIL TRAIL

The Otago Central Rail Trail is a 150-kilometre walking, cycling and horse riding track in the South Island of New Zealand. The trail is vehicle-free, and its easy gradient takes you through amazing scenery, over viaducts and through tunnels.

Chatto Creek Tavern is lucky enough to be located right on the trail, making it the perfect place to stop for lunch or a cheeky break from cycling. Feel free to join us in your cycling gears, you won’t feel out of place,
